The weeks ahead
Mon 1st | SDDG – @Alan’s [2 Wild Oaks Close, HA6 3NW] – 8pm |
The evening will be led by Fr. Shawn Middleton. Topic ‘Catholicism and Homosexuality”. Fr Middleton for some years organised the so-called ‘Soho Masses’ which aimed to meet the spiritual needs of LGBT Christians. Unfortunately the RC powers that be eventually put a stop to these weekly services. This should be a really interesting evening, and I urge all who are interested in Christian inclusivity to come along.Thurs 4th Thursday Bible Study restarts on 18th June
Contact Cheryl or Margaret for more information.Sun 7th Pastoral Meeting – after morning service
News of the Church Family
We were saddened to hear of the death of John Newton. A thanksgiving Service for him will be held at West Herts Crematorium at 10.40am on Friday 5th June. All are welcome, including afterwards to the Metropolitan Police Sports Club in Bushey.
There are many known to us who need our prayers for strength and encouragement, even though they may not be named in this newsletter. Let us continue to pray daily for each and every one.
Notices
v Gadget gist – Ron Bird will be in Oasis on Saturday 6th June from 10.00 to 12.00 to help with problems using mobile phones, tablets and computers. Wifi now available. Absolute beginners most welcome; coffee and cake always helps!
v Reading rota – The new reading rota is up in Oasis. Please sign up for those Sundays you are available to read. Thank you
v Mint jelly jars – The mint jelly making season is fast approaching. May I have any small glass jars you have spare (i.e. smaller than 1 lb), that I could sell, full, in Oasis to raise small sums towards improving our ‘facilities’. Thank you, Hazel
