Love 2 Play – 19th October 2013
A vibrant and exciting play event for 1-5’s
On Saturday 19th October the church was transformed into a welcoming, vibrant and colourful safe play space for 1-5 year olds.
With all the church chairs and other furniture removed and soft play equipment, creative tables and a tent-like story corner installed, by 10 am a willing band of volunteers from the congregation were ready to greet families from the area.
We were delighted to welcome a record number of children – 72 – and their parents and carers for a morning of play, crafts, face painting, stories, songs and dancing. The mayor of Hillingdon, Alan Kauffman, and his lady mayoress Lynne also paid us a visit to join in with the fun, the mayor demonstrating his cake decorating skills!
The children enjoyed clambering over the soft play obstacle course, jumping into the ball pool, making cards, puppets and cotton wool sheep, decorating cakes and biscuits (and eating them!), listening to stories and having their faces painted. The morning was rounded off with some energetic dancing led by Kate from ‘Dinky Dancers’ and a balloon drop, much to the delight of the children.
A huge thank you to everyone from the church who helped to put the event on, and to all the families who so enthusiastically joined in the fun!
