Who’s who

Rev. Audrey Browne

I arrived in the Harrow and Hillingdon Circuit in the summer of 2023, to journey alongside Northwood Methodist Church and Wealdstone Methodist Church. Not long into my appointment, I was given pastoral charge for Kenton Methodist Church. It is a privilege and an honour to be journeying alongside all three churches. Being based in North Harrow gives me excellent access to all three churches.

This is my third appointment as a Methodist minister, and I am in my eleventh year of ministry. My work experience before full-time ministry included early childhood education, shipping administration and marketing, wholesale and retail administration and marketing, and general administration. Prior to candidating for ordained ministry, I worked at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, in the Staff Bank, where my role included data inputting / payroll supervisor, and office manager.

I was born in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and am the third of four siblings. I love catching up with relatives abroad, in the USA, Switzerland, and the Caribbean, as well as staying in touch with friends in the UK.

My initial ministry formation took place at Wesley House, Cambridge, where I obtained my post-graduate certificate in Theology for Ministry. I then went on to complete my MA in Christian theology.

Since my early teens, I knew that my calling was within the church, so in my early to mid-twenties, I embarked on my theological exploration at Caribbean Christ for the Nations Institute, Jamacia. My time at CCFNI gave me a better sense of God’s purpose for me. A few years later I went on to complete my Bachelor of Divinity at Spurgeon’s College (University of Wales). I particularly enjoy biblical studies, biblical languages, and systematic theology (the discipline of Christian theology that formulates an orderly, rational and coherent account of the doctrines of the Christian Faith).

I like to watch TV in my spare time, especially quiz shows (the Chase being my favourite). I also enjoy cookery shows, and talent shows such as ‘Strictly Come Dancing, the Voice, Dancing on Ice, etc. Looking after my health and wellbeing (body, soul, and spirit), and being true to my values are important to me.

One of my favourite scripture is 3rd John verse 2, which says: “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” This is my prayer for all three churches I journey alongside.

Grace and Peace

Adrian Mansbridge – Is a Church Steward and a member of the church leadership team.  Adrian was born in Pinner and grew up in South Harrow. He went to Manchester University and after graduating trained as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Adrian grew up in the Anglican Church but after meeting and marrying Gillian, a Methodist, decided to follow the Methodist path which delighted his late father who had followed the opposite path! Some wonderful experiences overseas with Methodist connections in Maua (Kenya), Segbwema (Sierra Leone) and elsewhere and an amazing wife (and children) have influenced him for the better!

Daphne Bird – Youth Group Leader, Messy Church Organiser & Safeguarding Co-ordinator

In addition to working with the young people of the church on a Sunday morning and organising our Messy Church events, I enjoy helping on Monday mornings at our Little Acorns Toddler Group. I am also involved in regular Jewish-Christian dialogue meetings with our friends from NPLS next door.

My favourite event at NMC is the monthly Sunday Evening Bible Discussion group.

Karen Lane – I’m a Church Steward and Junior Church leader. I like to help with any activity that involves food such as serving morning coffee and cakes in the Oasis Coffee Lounge, providing the meal for the children, parents and helpers at Messy Church, and baking for fundraising cake stalls at various times of the year. I also play badminton in the Church hall.
